BW Converting demos collaborative Northern Engraving prototyping tools that turn innovative concepts into reality at ISSA North America 2024
Groundbreaking Embox tissue roll embossing design tool unleashes customer creativity, backed by decades of proven product development know-how and support
GREEN BAY, Wis. — November 19, 2024 — BW Converting is demonstrating how its Northern Engraving and Machine (NEMCO) brand works hand in hand with its customers through every step of product development for standout results at the ISSA Show North America. Front and center at ISSA is the new Embox platform that simplifies the development process by allowing converters and their customers to configure and visualize products using digital tools.
NEMCO offers comprehensive solutions to turn ideas into reality by assisting its customers in selecting engraved rolls, creating and repairing both new and regenerated rolls, and partnering in the development of products and engraving models. NEMCO’s experts will have samples on hand and walk visitors through the prototyping process and its comprehensive range of technology and equipment at ISSA, November 19-21 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas in booth #1369. The event brings together the leading experts to create impactful solutions for the global cleaning community.
NEMCO, together with the brands Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC), Winkler + Dünnebier (W+D) and STAX Technologies, are united under the BW Converting Hygiene business segment.
Recently, BW Converting recognized the need for an innovative tool to support customers in the technical and creative development of new products, reducing consultation times and accelerating the delivery of engraved rolls. The result is Northern Engraving’s Embox, a platform that guides the customer experience with an innovative and reliable technical algorithm, based on data gathered throughout over 80 years of the company's history.
The customer can configure a specific product starting from a few significant input data. Embox provides a statistically reliable response regarding the feasibility of producing the specified product and anticipates its performance, taking into account the configuration of the converting line.
Born from the analysis of the needs of the global market and in the context of a vision of constant innovation, Embox allows configuring products based on the types of patterns and configurations available.
A project is defined through four main steps: the first involves a complete analysis with a technical brief; the second focuses on product development with the support of Embox. Following these steps are prototyping and production, utilizing three pilot lines for product testing on flat or rolled samples: the Metrica and Musa lines in Lucca, Italy, and the Forte line in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The ISSA event aims to promote the commitment of the participating companies to have a positive impact on people and on the planet. Northern Engraving puts sustainability at the forefront by launching innovative ideas on the market, in addition to the new entirely digital Embox platform, that lead to the creation of eco-sustainable products, with zero impact and with less waste, simplifying life for its partners and respecting the planet.
"Embracing the future truly means putting one's business to the test, as concerns about sustainability, changing consumer preferences, and market challenges loom," stated Sergio Casella, President of the BW Converting Hygiene business segment. "That is why Northern Engraving is excited to share its expanded range of solutions, products and support systems with attendees at the ISSA Show."
