A Legacy of Quality and Innovation
Founded in 1918 by William Gegenheimer in Baldwin, New York, Baldwin Technology revolutionized offset printing with the Baldwin Press Washer, cutting cleaning time from hours to minutes. Through the decades, Baldwin expanded internationally while continuing to introduce innovations in the print industry, such as the Automatic Blanket Cleaning System in the 1970s, which improved press uptime and quality. In addition to innovation, Baldwin also expanded through acquisitions, including Kansa Corp., Enkel Corp., Stobb, Misomex and several more in the 1980’s.
Baldwin became part of the Barry-Wehmiller family in 2012. Major acquisitions followed, such as Web Printing Controls in 2014 and Air Motion Systems in 2017, expanding Baldwin's presence in LED-UV curing systems and packaging technologies. Baldwin also acquired Ahlbrandt, PC Industries, and QuadTech, strengthening its footprint in the packaging and printing industries.
In 2023, Baldwin was brought together with five other Barry-Wehmiller companies to form BW Converting, unifying the legacy of quality and innovation of each product brand under one global organization.
