PCMC
Under the banner of our industry-leading Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC) brand, BW Converting manufactures high-performance converting machinery for the tissue, nonwovens, hygiene, printing and packaging industries.

A Legacy of Quality and Innovation
Founded in 1919 as Bay City Machine Company by father-son partners Peter J. Christman, Sr. and Peter J. Christman, Jr., the company quickly expanded far beyond anything they could have imagined. In 1946, L.G. Wood became President and led PCMC’s expansion into Europe, entry into the flexographic printing and nonwovens industries and the opening of the present-day global headquarters in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Baer family took over in 1969, continuing overseas expansion, including the Lucca, Italy facility, which, in its own right, became a global innovator in tissue. PCMC became part of the Barry-Wehmiller family in 2005, one of its largest acquisitions to that point, which brought the company into a new era as a world leader in the tissue industry.
In 2023, PCMC was brought together with five other Barry-Wehmiller companies to form BW Converting, unifying the legacy of quality and innovation of each product brand under one global organization.
